Head Start

Head Start programs promote school readiness of children ages birth to five from low-income families by supporting children’s growth and development in a positive learning environment through a variety of services. Call Karen Kieper at 715-627-7128.

Children’s Wisconsin – Northwoods Community Services “Play & Learn” Mondays 9:30am - 11am

Play and Learn is a fun and active weekly play group program for parents, caregivers and children who are not yet in school. Each week, we’ll provide activities for adults and children to do together, as well as plenty of free-play time for everyone. Registration is not required – come join the fun! Call 715-627-1414.

Children Storytime and LEGO Master Builders Club at the Antigo Public Library

Every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. is Storytime. Preschooler-focused schoolers but all ages are welcome. Read 2 to 3 books, play movements games, and do a simple craft or coloring page. The first Wednesday of each month is LEGO Master Builders Club and is recommended for elementary and middle schoolers. Call: 715-623-3724.

Weekend Backpack Program (WEB)

From October to May, backpacks are prepared weekly and sent home through Antigo area schools. They contain easy-to-prepare food, and nutritional information such as recipes, for children and families. Volunteers are needed Wednesdays nights for packing backpacks for WEB.
